What does "Glocal English Project" mean?

Glocal is a word made up from Global and Local. Global stands for turning your eyes' to the wide world and having an interest to new things. Local stands for starting something new from your surroundings. We aim to have a Global view and to take action from our Local surroundings.

What is GEP's goal?

04

We want graduates from GEP to have a speciality and be proud of what they are doing in their society. To do so, we hope our workshop become an opportunity for students to get interested in something and chase it. Our goal is to share our passion to learn with as many students as possible. To achieve this goal, we pull out our passion to learn from our feeling of fun through our workshop which is based on our interests. We of course are trying to improve our activity at schools we already have a relationship with. Also, we are more than happy to find new schools to include passionate university students and teachers.

What is GEP's philosophy?
IMG_2685のコピー.JPG

We have 3 important principles in our philosophy when we hold our workshop.

1

To give each other the chance to know about others

In our workshop, through cultural exchanges between junior high school students and university students, and also with people from various areas, we aim that the participants will recognize and understand the others. By this experience we think participants will be able to think about their characters.

2

Making a place where we can express ourselves on our own.

Our workshop is not a place where we get grades like normal classes. We try to make a place where students and university students will be able to accept and understand the words and expressions made by both of us.

3

Not teaching, but learning together and growing together.

We want the participants to know the fun of using English and broaden their horizons not as a teacher, but as a much closer presence, as a university student. We want to value the realizations that occur through cultural exchanges between us.
